My journey at Harbin Medical University has been a meaningful chapter of learning, discovery, and personal growth. Coming from Pakistan to pursue postgraduate studies in Neurology at the First Affiliated Hospital of Harbin Medical University, I brought with me a strong passion for medical science and a dream of contributing to Neuroscience research. Over time, this journey has given me not only academic knowledge but also valuable experiences that have shaped my future aspirations.
我在哈尔滨医科大学的求学时光，是一段兼具学习、探索与个人成长意义的历程。我从巴基斯坦来到哈医大一院攻读神经病学硕士研究生，怀揣着对医学科学的热忱，立志为神经科学研究事业贡献力量。一路走来，这段经历带给我的不仅是专业学识，还有诸多宝贵阅历，这些都塑造了我未来的理想追求。
My experience at Harbin Medical University has extended beyond the laboratory and classroom. Through activities organized by the College of International Education, I have had valuable opportunities to participate in academic exchanges and cultural events while connecting with students from different backgrounds. One particularly memorable achievement was receiving Second Prize for my poster presentation during the Perception of China academic month and medical education and research exchange activities in November 2025. I also had the pleasure of performing a traditional Chinese song at the university's New Year Gala in 2024. These experiences have enriched my understanding of Chinese culture, strengthened my confidence, and made me feel increasingly connected to the university community. I am sincerely grateful to CIE for creating opportunities that allow international students like me to develop not only academically, but also culturally and personally.
我在哈医大的收获，不止局限于实验室与课堂。依托国际教育学院组织的各类活动，我获得了参与学术交流与文化活动的宝贵机会，得以结识来自不同背景的同学。令我印象尤为深刻的一项成果，是在2025年11月“感知中国”学术月暨医学教育与科研交流活动中，我的壁报展示荣获二等奖。我也曾有幸登上2024年学校新年晚会的舞台，演唱中国传统歌曲。这些经历加深了我对中国文化的理解，增强了我的自信心，也让我愈发融入校园集体。我由衷感谢国际教育学院为我们留学生搭建平台，让我们在学业、文化素养与个人综合能力方面都得到成长。
My first year under the guidance of the College of International Education (CIE) introduced me to Chinese culture, research‑related knowledge, and a new academic environment. I am sincerely grateful to CIE for its dedication to international students and for helping create a welcoming environment where students from different countries can learn, adapt, and thrive. The college has made my experience in China richer and more meaningful, allowing me to appreciate the cultural exchange and international friendships that make studying abroad so special.
入学第一年，在国际教育学院的引导下，我接触了解中国文化、科研相关知识，逐步适应全新的学术环境。我由衷感谢国际教育学院对留学生的悉心投入，学院为各国学子营造出包容友善的环境，让我们能够在这里学习、适应并不断进步。学院让我的在华经历变得更加充实而富有意义，也让我真切体会到跨文化交流与跨国友谊所赋予留学的独特价值。
Alongside my coursework, I began working in the hospital laboratory at the first affiliated hospital of Harbin Medical university on Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) research. This experience strengthened my passion for neuroscience and taught me the importance of patience, precision, teamwork, and perseverance in scientific discovery. I am especially thankful to my supervisor, Professor Hongquan Jiang, whose valuable guidance, encouragement, and commitment to research have been instrumental in my academic development. His mentorship has inspired me to approach scientific challenges with greater confidence and dedication.
在完成课程学习的同时，我进入哈尔滨医科大学第一附属医院实验室，开展肌萎缩侧索硬化（ALS）相关研究。这段科研经历进一步点燃了我对神经科学的热爱，也让我懂得，在科学探索中，耐心、严谨、团队协作与坚持不懈都至关重要。我特别感谢我的导师姜洪全教授，他给予我宝贵的指导与鼓励，对待科研严谨投入，对我的学业成长起到关键作用。在他的言传身教之下，我更有信心、也更加专注地去面对各类科研难题。
One of the most rewarding milestones of my postgraduate journey has been co‑authoring two research papers published in Brain Research and Neuroscience. These achievements reflect my growing experience in neuroscience research and the invaluable guidance, collaboration, and encouragement I have received from my supervisor, Professor Hongquan Jiang, and the research team.
研究生阶段最有收获的里程碑之一，就是以共同作者身份完成两篇论文，分别发表于《Brain Research》与《Neuroscience》期刊。这些成果既是我在神经科学研究领域逐步积累成长的体现，也离不开导师姜洪全教授以及整个科研团队给予我的宝贵指导、协作支持与不断鼓励。
As I approach the final stage of my postgraduate studies, with graduation expected in July 2027, I look forward to continuing my development as a researcher. Harbin Medical University has provided me with an excellent academic environment, valuable research opportunities, and the encouragement to pursue my ambitions. I will always appreciate the dedication of CIE, the guidance of Professor Jiang, and the support of everyone who has contributed to my growth.

My journey from Pakistan to Harbin has taught me that success is not achieved alone; it grows through perseverance, inspiring mentorship, and the opportunities we receive.
